Our environmental approach 12/02/2020

Committed to safeguarding our planet, the Maison de la Mutualité is committed to a policy of environmental responsibility. ISO 14001 certified, the Maison Connectée wishes to deepen its commitment and has begun the process of ISO 20121 certification.

This certification aims to promote sustainable development integrated into the events activity. This international recognition defines a set of procedures to identify the key issues of an environmental approach from the conception of the event and to integrate them in its development. The founding principle of ISO standards is continuous improvement.

As a result, the Maison de la Mutualité has already implemented a certain number of actions such as :

- An evolution of the foodbook by including a "green" offer which proposes organic, local and seasonal products.

- The use of eco-responsible cleaning products in kitchens and offices

- The Lunch Boxes are now composed of disposable and compostable tableware. This is a first step towards the total stop of plastic in events.

- In order to avoid the use of plastic bottles, each employee has been offered a stainless steel bottle.

- Operations to raise awareness of the approach among employees are carried out

- Many partnerships are established with recycling and food donation companies such as :

    Sorting and recycling of cigarette butts
    Selective sorting with the installation of adapted bins and training of employees
    Donations of surplus food following an event
    Donation of used furniture to recycling companies
    Recycling of batteries, ink cartridges, light bulbs and electrical waste

In total, nearly 66 actions were implemented at Maison de la Mutualité and all other GL events Paris Venues sites to obtain ISO 20121 certification for the destination.

On a daily basis, all teams are mobilised around this healthy and rewarding approach for better optimisation. THINK GREEN!
